New MGE Vacuum Pumps launched for SAM Suction Units
Over the past few months, one of the outcomes of the increase in demand for our SAM Suction equipment was a requirement for us to accelerate the design work on producing our own new Vacuum pumps so that we become less reliant on external suppliers to meet our customer demands.
We are therefore very pleased to announce that the new MG30 and MG50 pumps are available and having passed all their testing are now being fitted as standard into all new SAM suction equipment.
The MG30 single head pump replaces our current MQ30 and is fitted in our general suction units such as the SAM 12 and SAM 14 whilst our higher spec MG50 (replacing the MQ45) is our double headed version and used in our larger Operating Theatre units including the SAM 35.
Both pumps offer the same performance specifications as their predecessors however they have been designed to use less plastic in their manufacture and also improved energy efficiency as we continue to do improvements to help reduce our environmental impact.
For more information, send a message to our Customer Services team who will be happy to assist further.
SAM Medical Filters - Protection and Viral Filtration Efficiency in respect to Covid-19
Following requests from several of our customers and hospitals, MGE have put together an information Datasheet to give guidance on our SAM Anti-bacterial and SAM Hydrophobic filters (MSP1002 and MSP1003) in regard to the protection that they offer against the SARS-CoV-2 virus (COVID-19) when used in conjunction with our Medical equipment.
The information is in a downloadable pdf and is available here or alternatively you can send a message to our Customer Services team who will then email it to you directly.
MGE step up production of Suction Equipment to meet Covid-19 demands
As part of the fight against Covid-19, MGE have been working with a multitude of NHS hospitals as well as various other Health Ministries around the world to assist with the provision of Medical Suction equipment to help with the current global pandemic.
The latest equipment package was sent out today to supply the brand new Nightingale Hospital in London ready for it's opening on the 1st April. It is expected that this is the first delivery of many both for this location and the other temporary Hospital sites scheduled to be built across the UK.
In view of this MGE is liaising with our full supply network and ramping up our production levels to be able to maximise how we can assist Medical Institutions with their equipment needs during this fast changing crisis.
An Environmental Step in the Right Direction
We're pleased to announce that another of MGE's environmental goals has recently been reached with the completion of our internal product packaging project.
The project has involved the redesign and resourcing of all of our Paper & Cardboard based product packaging to ensure that only virgin material from sustainable sources or recycled corrugated board is used to package our entire product range. In addition all colouring, graphics and lettering on the packaging has been printed using only vegetable based inks to further limit the environmental impact over those caused by more traditional Petroleum based inks.
Not only has this given all of our packaging a consistant and stylish new look but also it's another step in making MGE's environmental footprint that little bit smaller.
Arab Health 2020 - Dubai

In addition we were displaying a brand new prototype Portable battery suction device for use by paramedics and in the homecare market. The device got a great reception from all who saw it and the plan is to launch it towards the end of this year. So watch this space!
A big thank you to all those that attended our stand this year and we will respond to all of the queries and requests that were made. If you would like to contact us directly though, please do so by clicking here and Marc or Tamila will come back to you directly.
New SAM Microsuction Unit
Following our work with several Audiologists and Aural supply companies, we are pleased to announce our latest SAM unit to join our range, the SAM MS Microsuction device.
The Microsuction technique has been developed by ear nose and throat specialists, to remove wax and debris from the aural canal. The procedure is quick, easy, safe and is a pain (and syringe) free method of cleaning ears.
To carry out the procedure requires a reliable, consistant suction device and the SAM MS has been developed specifically to meet this requirement. And in addition to the new unit, we also now have a range of disposable sterilised suction tips and tools so a complete solution for Microsuction can be offered to the practitioner.
